  1. Hello Erin, I know they do not do training in house but the Barry County Road Commission signed a letter of understanding (may not be correct terminology) with the BC Conservation District to allow the BCCD to do training sessions with hired mowers (and maybe other personnel) on Japanese knotweed identification. As you may know, Sarah Nelson is the BCCD Manager and IOE who has been working on this issue. Her email is sarah.nelson@macd.org
  2. I meant property parcels. We are setting ours up to first be identified by parcel then have attached information about the invasive species. We actually have figured out a way to do this in a nice brainstorming session on Friday if you would like to see it.
  3. Thank you both for the information! This will be most helpful in creating our form and we will share our final product when we have it done
  4. We are currently working on a way to assign unique numbers(UN) to parcels in our CISMA so that way when they are uploaded to the database it will act as a unique identifier. Our current ideas have been based around starting the parcel ID with the three digit FID code for the county followed by another three digits to make a six digit total UN. This length is critical especially when we plan on relying upon trained volunteers to add the data from its paper source into the database. Has anyone approached this problem yet?
  5. The BCK CISMA is in the early phases of creating a database to track all of the surveys, treatments, landowner information, parcels, etc. in our CISMA. How have you been going about creating this? We are currently in the process of figuring exactly which fields to include and its general setup so any advice would be gobbled up like candy.

  7. I was wondering if anyone has created and is willing to share a tracking treatment form? I would also be open to cooperating on creating one together. What I have in mind is a form that can we sent to other organizations, landscape companies, private and public landowners, etc., that can then be filled in, sent back to us, and then updated into a database.
  8. Howdy y'all, my name is Andrew Laws and my partner's name is Brian Chill. We are the CISMA Strike Team for the BCK CISMA and we will be doing the brunt of the groundwork in our area. Our supervisor is Ryan Koziatek and we are happy to be joining the campaign against new invasives. We are looking to share information to make the process of reporting and treating invasive species easier and more efficient. We hope to be in contact with y'all and to work towards a healthier wild Michigan.
  9. Hello Claire, I was wondering if you had a timeline for the MISIN treating app?
