  2. North Country CISMA has an opening for someone, with experience and expertise in invasive species identification and control, to act as their Invasive Species Technician. This person will provide technical assistance to property owners, and assist the NCCISMA Program Coordinator with data collection and management. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Certified Pesticide Applicator, as they will also act as back-up field crew lead, and assist the field crew in performing invasive species management activities. This is a full time, 40hr/week, year-round position. Duty location may be in either Cadillac or Scottville, MI. Starting pay is $15.00 - $17.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. This position is grant funded, with funding currently in place through April of 2020. NCCISMA intends for this to be a long-term position, and will be pursuing funding to that effect.   4. The CAKE CISMA is seeking applicants for an invasive species strike team for the 2018 field season. Two positions are available, one crew leader and one technician. These are seasonal positions, working up to 40 hours/week for up to 28 weeks (7 months). Primary responsibilities include working under the supervision of the CAKE CISMA Coordinator to manage terrestrial invasive plants throughout the CAKE service region. Managing invasive species will be done through the use of multiple treatment methods including manual and chemical treatments as well as surveying and prioritizing infested sites. Intern will organize and lead aquatic invasive plant assessments of Oakland County lakes, working with local volunteers as part of the Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program. The Chippewa Luce Mackinac Conservation District is seeking interested applicants for invasive species field technicians and crew leads for the Three Shores Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area 2018 field season. These are seasonal/temporary position averaging 40 hours per week from May 14 - Aug/Sept/Oct. Work schedule will average 5 days per week including some weekends. Duties will primarily be field work removing invasive species manually, chemically, or mechanical on land and in water, staff supervision, proper data collection, daily survey/mapping/monitoring data entry, and host outreach events as needed. The Nature Conservancy in Michigan is currently hiring a seasonal crew of one crew leader and six crew members to carry out freshwater dune system restoration via terrestrial invasive plant control in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore area of Northwest Lower Michigan.   9. Four summer positions available at MSU! Aquatic invasive species primarily spread from one water body to another by “hitchhiking” on boats, trailers, and other equipment. Through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Forest Service and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, Michigan State University is leading a multi-year program to teach boaters how to reduce this risk by properly inspecting and cleaning their equipment. Sea Grant Extension educators are involved in planning, organizing, and implementing university-based educational programs that apply knowledge and understanding gained through research, and are members of the MSU Extension Greening Michigan Institute. Extension educators support Great Lakes stakeholders with information and tools to make informed decisions to conserve and enhance Michigan's coastal and Great Lakes resources and communities. Michigan Sea Grant Extension seeks to hire an Extension Educator, to be part of a collaborative team and provide overall leadership for the Saginaw Bay region, and sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues in other parts of the state, Great Lakes region and nation. This person will collaborate with other partners to support activities related to the conservation of Saginaw Bay coastal wetlands and nearshore habitats for water quality and fish and wildlife populations and a vibrant coastal economy. The Wild Rivers Invasive Species Coalition (WRISC) is currently accepting applications for multiple seasonal invasive species technicians for 2016 to conduct various invasive species activities, including education, outreach, mapping, and control work. The positions will be funded by multiple grants and be hired through the Dickinson Conservation District (the WRISC fiscal agent).   22. The Saginaw Bay Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area is currently seeking applicants for the Project Coordinator position. The position covers the 17 counties within the Saginaw Bay watershed and is based out of the Saginaw Conservation District office. It will be the role of the Project Coordinator to maintain communication with partners involved in the SB-CISMA, especially those involved with SB-CISMA projects.
