The Northwest Michigan Invasive Species Network (ISN) is hiring three separate seasonal positions in Traverse City, MI for the 2026 field season:

  • ISN Seasonal Survey Technician (2 positions)
  • ISN Seasonal Restoration Crew Member (2 positions)
  • ISN Seasonal Strike Team Member (2 positions)

ISN focuses on terrestrial invasive species outreach & management through partnerships with various entities such as Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, and Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. These positions work to implement funding through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, Sustain Our Great Lakes, and other subgrants awarded to ISN.

ISN is also hiring a full-time Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA) Specialist to survey forests and trees in 4 counties for invasive hemlock woolly adelgid, conduct delimitation surveys to prepare sites with active HWA infestations for summer treatments, and treat HWA on prepped sites. Other duties include creating maps, working with private landowners, assisting with training, engaging volunteers, and other duties as needed.

ISN is now also hiring a full-time Invasive Species Specialist, who will help manage our seasonal invasive species crew, create and design maps for the ISN team to use, and work with partners to survey and manage for invasive species across ISN's four-county service area. Other duties include data management, creating maps, working with
private land owners, assisting with trainings, assisting with permitting and reporting, and engaging volunteers.
