Claire Peterson
Hi all, We received an e-mail yesterday requesting help on identifying this aquatic plant that is growing in Magician Lake in Cass County. Does anyone happy to know what this could be?
Nor Serocki
Looks like one of the Sagittaria sp. to me, though if it doesn't have much venation (hard to tell from the image), it could also be Pontedaria. Possibly Sagittaria rigida, though they can be a little harder to tell apart until they flower. It's If you have a lat/long, I'd be happy to go down and take a look, or talk to the land owner about it! Katie Grzesiak
I'm with Nor; from what I can see on this photo, I'd guess S. rigida. Native, and great for pollinators.
Tyler Mitchell
Looks like young pickerel weed to me. I would wait for it to flower and check back, or maybe get a more detailed picture.
