Benjamin VanDyke
Hello all! I received a call the other day about invasive jumping worms. Is anyone familiar with this species, or what to do about it? Any information would be helpful, as its not one that I'm really familiar with. Thanks! It was good to see many of you at the summer field trip and hear about how everyone is doing!
Erica Clites
Hi @Benjamin VanDyke , we definitely have them in Oakland County. I suggest talking to Scott Tiegs at Oakland University who has worked on them. https://oakland.edu/biology/top-links/directory/tiegs We're not doing much at the moment, but I have heard that some property owners in Oakland County are working on it. The main thing I would recommend for people is to plant bare root stock so as not to transfer soil in between locations.
